Tucked in the south of Limburg and idyllically located in the Geul Valley, this humble guest house is surrounded by nature yet close to the charismatic city of Maastricht. Taking its name from the river which runs through it, the Geul valley offers many panoramic views ? some of which can be enjoyed from the comfort of the hotel green-room and terrace. The cosiness of a traditional tavern and optimal hospitality can still be found here in De Herberg, where guests are treated with care. 34 sleeping places have been divided over 13 rooms. We also offer free on site parking, a bike shed and special parking area for motor bikes.

De Herberg is a friendly family hotel. The cosy atmosphere is partly created by our lounge area, which seats 45 people and is used for dinner, lunch and recreational purposes. This is a welcoming spot where guests can retreat and relax. It has a reading corner, television/DVD area and a closet filled with games. A daily Dutch newspaper and a weekly television guide are provided. Our terrace (which seats 100 people) and restaurant are easily accessible for people in wheelchairs or with walking disabilities. The terrace has beautiful views and is an ideal place to have a drink or read a book.
Not only holidaymakers will find a welcome home, but also people staying with us for an extended period due to business, internships etc. Company employees, visitors of fairs (MECC), representatives, travellers passing through and others are all welcome. De Herberg is an affordable, suitable place for an enjoyable stay. Please note: when arriving after 19:00, please contact the hotel in advance.
Underneath the guest house is our restaurant. Popular amongst the locals, it has a good reputation and always falls in the top 3 of our 25 neighbourhood restaurants. We serve a selection of local products, game and fish dishes as well as vegetarian meals. You can dine à la carte, but as hotel guest you also have the option to choose the 3-course surprise menu.
Breakfast is included in the room rate.

If cancelled up to 30 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled up to 14 days before date of arrival, 15 percent of all nights will be charged. If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, 35 percent of all nights will be charged. If cancelled up to 3 days before date of arrival, 60 percent of all nights will be charged. If cancelled up to 1 day before date of arrival, 85 percent of all nights will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
All children are welcome. All children under 3 years are charged EUR 6.00 per night and person for cots. All children under 3 years are charged EUR 6.00 per night and person when using existing bedding. All children from 4 to 10 years are charged 50 % of the room stay per night and person when using existing bedding. One older child or adult is charged EUR 21.00 per night and person in an extra bed. Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 3.
